About the role:

Elemental Machines is looking for an experienced, full-time, Product Manager.

The candidate will manage our entire portfolio of LabOps tools, including IoT devices and SaaS applications. The Product Manager position is ideally suited to a person who has worked as a bench scientist or in a lab and who has 7-10 years of experience in product management, marketing, or technical development.

The Product Manager is responsible for managing a range of products through the product life cycle that includes working with commercial and engineering teams to determine and prioritize product requirements; developing launch plans and promotional activities in collaboration with the Commercial team; and working with our operations team to optimize production planning. The Product Manager also participates in planning activities that include but are not limited to implementing design changes, prioritizing new feature requests, and developing a tactical marketing plan for their area of responsibility.  In essence, this role “owns” the product and connects the dots within the organization to ensure market success.

This is a full-time salary position located at our Cambridge, MA office. A hybrid schedule of working remotely and on-site is preferred.  Applicants must reside in the Greater Boston Area. Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time.

More about the role:


  • Manage product line(s) through the entire product life cycle including conducting market research to identify needs, creating product requirements, launching products, driving product improvements, and retiring products.

  • Create design inputs and specifications that provide direction to R&D and ensure that the products being developed are targeted to identified opportunities.

  • Develop and implement tactical plans for comprehensive and successful product launches.

  • Create and maintain systems for capturing market feedback and inputting feedback into development processes.

  • Conduct 6- or 12-month post launch reviews for key products.

  • Support customer requests for data, including managing the process for communicating Information Security (InfoSec) controls and processes.

  • Work with Operations to ensure consistent product availability via accurate demand forecasts.

  • Act as a liaison between Commercial and Engineering teams. 

  • Prioritize proposed product enhancements and calculate return on investment based upon proposed business strategy options

  • Address customer feedback for product improvements 

  • Deliver proposals, presentations, concepts and solutions to identified decision makers and to internal business leaders


  • Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering or related technical field.

  • 7-10+ years of SaaS product management, or equivalent work experience.

  • Hands-on experience working in a laboratory environment

  • Strong customer focus

  • Deep understanding of product development processes and product lifecycles

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently 

  • A "go-to person" who drives results 

  • Ability to understand technical problems and break them down into actionable steps that can be cross-functionally acted upon using commonly understood language.
